Swim Meet Info & Requirements
Boys & Girls Club Meet Requirements:
- Attendance at FOUR Boys & Girls Club meets are required
- Meets make your swimmers better, attendance at all Boys & Girls Club meets are strongly encouraged
- Parents will be required to volunteer at the home meets, the positions are very easy, will be thoroughly explained, and will go as follows
- Timers, Parents to Line up Swimmers, Snack Stand Attendants
- We will also ask parents to donate snacks to our concession stands as well
- Commitment to meets must be made by the sign-up deadline. There will be no entry for any swimmer that does not sign up by the deadline
- Swimmers that did not sign up for the swim meet prior to the sign up deadline will be sent home and unable to compete for that day
- Sign up deadlines for Boys & Girls Club Meets are typically three days before the competition
RIMA CHAMPIONSHIPS:
- The Rip-Tides compete against other teams in the league at a Natatorium in Dartmouth, Mass. This is a phenomenal opportunity to get the swimmers the privilege to compete at a College pool, cheer on their teammates, win awards, and most of all, have fun!!
- The RIMA Championship meet is mandatory for all members of the swim team. It is important for our team to come together and support each other at the biggest competition in our league
Boys & Girls Club National Championships
RIMA United comes together each year to participate in the National Championships in Saint Petersburg, Florida! USA Swimming membership is not required for this meet. It is a phenomenal chance for athletes to branch out of their comfort zone meet new swimmers and compete against athletes all around the country. RIMA United has placed 3rd at Nationals the past couple of years!
Friday night, Saturday Trials/Finals, and Sunday Trials/Finals Sessions
You must attend & swim all sessions you are entered in, this is NOT a vacation Nationals meeting will take place each year at the conclusion of the RIMA Championships
Parents are responsible for their Flights & hotel accommodations
Team Dinner at the conclusion of the meet each year!

RIMA UNITED:
Rip Tides combines with other teams in the league to form RIMA United. The purpose of RIMA United is to provide the opportunity to compete outside our league in prestigious meets all around New England with events not offered in Boys & Girls Club RIMA League meets, prepare for the Boys and Girls Club Nationals, and to bring RIMA swimmers together as a united team.
USA Swimming meets are a great way for your athletes to be noticed by College Swimming Coaches & Recruiters. For swimmers aspiring to compete at prestigious N.E Championship meets, and score highly at the RIMA Championships, RI High School State Championships, & Boys & Girls Club National championships; Participation in USA meets are essential.
Attendance at the highest level competition your swimmer qualifies for within USA Swimming is required. Attendance at the meets deemed mandatory by the Head Coach are required. Mandatory USA Competitions are at the discretion of the Head Coach
The Meets RIMA United USA Swimming Team participate in are for an additional fee not including for the registration of the swim team; USA Meet fees must be paid for by the payment deadline given by the Head Coach. If your swimmer cannot make the meet and the registration deadline has passed, typically no refunds are given by the Meet managers. USA Swimming requires a higher level of commitment for Swimmers and Parents.
